Respect Music (RM) was established in 2004 on the Gold Coast of Queensland Australia, initially as an entertainment booking agent. However, over years RM has grown to be one of the Gold Coast and Brisbane’s premium entertainment and marketing consultancy companies.
Servicing everything from entertainment for weddings, private events and parties through to festivals, corporate activations, international tour management, entertainment scheduling and management for large international hotel chains, casinos and venues, artist development, recording and music production, multi camera live streaming and conferencing, photography, filming, directing, editing and production of music clips and event promotions.
RM are always on the hunt for fresh talent and offer all aspects of artist development to aid artists in either, preparing for entry into the music industry or even levelling up their game.
Driven by passion for music and always guided heavily by their mission statement “Love + Respect + Music”, RM endeavours to offer value and enhance each and every experience and event they are involved with.

Our Founder
James Canning
James is the founder / director / owner of Respect Music, which was conceived back in 2007 as a means of offering more soulful and worldly entertainment options to the Australian Gold Coast. James has been in the music business in some capacity, since the mid 90’s and has been one of the purveyors of the Black and Latin inspired Music scene on the East Coast of Australia since 2001. Having produced and performed under his own name and numerous aliases, as well as hosting numerous radio shows, events and even running a record label.
